Successful Entrepreneurs Plan To Win. We have partnered with Palo Alto Software, the creator of LivePlan, to bring you the Business Plan Accelerator .This innovative Accelerator-style course accommodate students from any major or industry, at any stage of business, with any level of experience—all with secured access to the LivePlan online platform. Students learn by doing. Upon completing this course, students will have a completed business plan to deliver to a panel of local business people—a banker, a lawyer, CEOs of a local business, and their classmates. It’s good practice for those who will pitch for funding for their companies, and sometimes students leave with new connections—like business mentors or potential investors.Â
Course Description:
The StartUp Business Plan Accelerator is a virtual business planning course that uses LivePlan software to drive business planning success. The software is integrated into the curriculum, helping student entrepreneurs to develop a deeper understanding of their business model whether it is a startup or a new service/product for an existing business. The training is facilitated online by a Certified Course Leader and one-on-one coaching is provided to each student during and after the completion of the course.Â
Students are encouraged to schedule one-on-one consultations with a Certified Course Leader/Strategic Advisor upon completion of each lesson. This is designed to ensure that all students have a completed business plan and a greater appreciation for the entrepreneurial mindset and the business planning process by the end of the course.Â
Resources needed for this course:
- Access to a computer and internet connection
- A Zoom or WebEx account
- Business Systematization Course Guidebook (Recommended)
- An open mind and commitment to learning and doing what you learn
- Willing to commit to at least 5 hours a week for 6 weeks.

LivePlan Strategic Advisor & Course Leader
Building on his father’s legacy of pies and bring inspiration to others, in the 1980s, Omar opened retail pie shops in Jackson Brewery, Canal Place and Riverwalk and founded the American Student Entrepreneurs Association and the Urban Institute for Entrepreneurship Education at Southern University in New Orleans. Omar has been a leading advocate for the inclusion of entrepreneurship in public education and in 1993 Entrepreneur Magazine, a leading business authority, featured his widely shared entrepreneurial equation ( K+A+C=E3) and his Participating In Entrepreneurship (PIE) Program.
He earned a Bachelor from the University of New Orleans and graduate business studies from Louisiana State University. His experience included working with the Idea Village, Urban League Women Business Resource Center, New Orleans Jobs Initiative, A.B. Freeman Business School, Orleans Private Industry Council, University of New Orleans Instructor of Hotel, Restaurant & Tourism, the Chamber of Commerce, U.S. Small Business Administration and many high schools and colleges.Â
